KBK, where legends are born

What started as a modest circuit just after World War II has grown into a fixture in the Flemish opening weekend. For 80 years, riders have braved wind, rain and cobblestones on their way to the finish – and for 80 years Kuurne has been eagerly waiting on the sidelines. From local heroes to world champions: they all rode through our streets.

Our strategy

Leading opening classic

Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne elite

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne is still one of the most leading opening classics of the cycling season in 2026. As a UCI ProSeries race, KBK reaches more than 6 million viewers worldwide. Almost all WorldTour teams line up at the start every year, making our race a fixture on the international cycling calendar.
Since 2024 we have been starting from the beautiful setting of the Grand Market Square in Kortrijk.

The renewed route offers room for surprises, with traditional local laps providing local spectacle. The finale remains unpredictable: a mass sprint or a legendary solo — anything is possible. It also provides the ideal setting for a well-developed VIP experience.

But KBK is more than just the elite race.

KBK for Juniors traditionally opens the international junior season. Great names have already been launched here — think of Remco Evenepoel, who triumphantly raised his bike in the air in 2018. In addition, KBK Cyclo has grown into an international attraction. On the Saturday preceding the elite race, some 4,000 cycling tourists ride their own Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. A flawlessly planned route, the typical atmosphere and the iconic feed zones make the cyclo the opening classic for amateur cyclists.

As an organization we consciously continue to focus on this triptych Elite – Juniors – Cyclo. It allows our 77-year tradition to be relived today in different ways: as a sporting highlight and as a two-day popular festival for everyone. Together with hundreds of volunteers we continue to build on growth and innovation each year.

What we stand for

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne is both an authentic sporting event and a piece of living cultural heritage. Our organization has been carried for decades by a deep love for cycling — and especially for everything that makes cycling a popular festival.

We combine humanity and warmth with professional craftsmanship. Our mission is clear: to sustain this unique cycling spectacle and give everyone the opportunity to experience it in their own way.

What we aim for

We want to continue translating our rich tradition into a warm, accessible and unforgettable cycling event. KBK strives to remain a race with a soul: professional, friendly and authentic.

Our ambition is clear

A two-day cycling weekend that connects sports enthusiasts, cycling tourists and families alike — a race to love.

Our values

Passie voor wielrennen

01. passion

Passion is the beating heart of Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. Passion for cycling, for Flemish classics, for our Kuurne traditions and folklore. Without passion, no KBK — it's that simple.

Our hundreds of volunteers commit themselves unconditionally year after year. Long evenings at the meeting table, freezing cold mornings in wind and weather: that's KBK. Sometimes with a bit of grumbling, sometimes with a firm fist on the table — but always with heart and soul. Out of passion for the race and for Kuurne.

Beleving

02. Experience

Experience is the common thread through everything we do. From an atmospheric start in Kortrijk to an exciting finale in Kuurne: we want to offer every spectator, rider, volunteer and VIP a fantastic experience.

We perfect our route, strive for maximum safety and bring the live broadcast into living rooms around the world.

The junior race provides extra spectacle, KBK Cyclo is known for its flawless organization and the beloved meatballs at the feed zones. Even our posters travel the world — from the US to Australia.
Experience? That's in our DNA.

Integriteit

03. integrity

After more than 77 editions, the essence remains the same: racing, in all its purity. Our organization prefers not to be in the spotlight itself — we leave that honor to our riders, sponsors and volunteers.

Profit has never been our driving force and will remain so. Our priority is the continuity and independence of Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. Only this way can we remain true to our uniqueness and to the values that made us great: honesty, decency and respect.

Sociaal engagement

04. social commitment

As an international cycling event, we consider it important to use our voice for good. Year after year we support a local social initiative — from organizations around poverty to projects for the Children's Cancer Fund.

We give them visibility in KBK Magazine, through our social channels and during KBK Cyclo. Not to pat ourselves on the back, but because social commitment brings out the best in people. Also within our own organization.

The team
behind kbk

Behind every successful race lies a team that manages to pour months of preparation into one unforgettable day. From route planning to support vehicle, from drink supply to finish podium: our volunteers and staff ensure that the riders can race and the public can enjoy.
