Founded in 1945, Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne is the legendary finale of the Flemish opening weekend: a race with character, history and an unparalleled atmosphere. Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne is a unique cycling festival for fans, riders and families but also a renowned race where tradition lives and where new legends are born.
KBK Elite is the UCI ProSeries classic that concludes the Flemish opening weekend in style. From Kortrijk, the peloton heads towards the Flemish Ardennes and the Walloon Pays de Collines, where steep climbs, open plains, and unexpected conditions determine the battleground and the course of the race. For nearly 200 kilometers, a different story unfolds every year: a brave soloist, a depleted breakaway, or a lightning-fast mass sprint on the Brugsesteenweg in Kuurne. KBK Elite is a race with character: unpredictable, tough, and fair.
KBK Juniores is the race for future champions. On the same day as the elite race, they ride 130 km where the Flemish Ardennes, with their challenging climbs, make the difference. The start and finish are in Kuurne, and this is where true legends are born. The prestigious list of winners features names such as Remco Evenepoel, Geraint Thomas, Cian Uijtdebroeks, and Jarno Widar. KBK Juniores is an iconic junior race full of character, battle, and ambition, where young riders showcase their talent, tactical insight, and perseverance.
A day before the elite and junior races, cycling enthusiasts can discover the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne course for themselves. With distances ranging from 65 to 140 km, there is a route for everyone, from recreational rider to seasoned amateur. The well-signposted courses lead through the Flemish Ardennes and the Hainaut region of Pays des Collines, passing hills and charming roads that the pros will also ride the following day. KBK Cyclo offers a unique experience, with extensive refreshments, a friendly atmosphere, and invigorating après-bike at the Kubox in Kuurne. The perfect start to the opening weekend: sporty, inspiring, and sociable.
