Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2026: Where Legends Are Honored

Home » Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2026: Where Legends Are Honored

Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne has remained true to its DNA for decades. Where Legends Are Born is more than a slogan — it is the very essence of our race. Year after year, young talents take their first major steps in Kuurne towards an impressive cycling career, while our event secures its place in the rich history of international cycling.

For the 2026 edition, that familiar DNA takes on a special and deeply emotional meaning. This year, we consciously reflect on what Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne has been, what it is today, and what it will continue to be. With great pride, we present the 2026 campaign image, captured in one powerful message: Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne – Where Legends Are Honored.

A tribute with deeper meaning

The year 2025 was a difficult one for Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. We said farewell to our chairman Geert Penez, the driving force behind the race, a man whose vision, dedication and tireless commitment shaped KBK into what it is today. His name is inseparably linked to the growth, reputation and character of our early-season classic.

The 2026 campaign image is therefore a direct tribute to Geert Penez.

The idea was born during a moment of quiet reflection: his funeral, held in Saint Peter’s Church in Kuurne. A modern Christ figure on the church wall caught our attention. In its silhouette, we recognised a cyclist crossing the finish line, arms raised towards the cycling heavens. When a ray of light illuminated the figure, it appeared to be highlighted from above — a powerful and symbolic image that immediately resonated with us.

An image that breathes cycling and dedication

That moment formed the foundation of the 2026 campaign image. We deliberately chose a strong and dark visual, fully in line with the DNA of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. An image that breathes cycling, radiates passion and dedication, and symbolises how Geert Penez — even from afar — continues to shine a light on the legends of KBK.

The campaign image reflects not only loss, but above all pride, gratitude and connection. It stands for perseverance, belief in the future and respect for the past — values that Geert embodied and that are deeply rooted in our organisation and our race.

Where Legends Are Honored

With this campaign image, we honour not only our beloved chairman, but all the legends of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne:

  • the winners among juniors and elite riders,
  • the cyclists who took their first major steps here,
  • and the many volunteers and staff who have been making a difference behind the scenes for decades.

For this edition, our slogan has therefore been deliberately and symbolically adapted. Where Legends Are Born gives way in 2026 to Where Legends Are Honored — a tribute to the past, a thank-you to everyone who makes KBK possible, and a promise for the future.

With this campaign image, we look ahead to a new edition of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, driven by tradition, emotion and ambition. An edition in which we remember, honour and once again write history.

Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. Where Legends Are Honored.
