Looking back at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne Juniors 2025

The 2025 edition of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne Juniors delivered a Belgian winner after an impressive performance. Tuur Verbeeck claimed a convincing solo victory, crossing the finish line in Kuurne with an eight-second advantage. In the chasing group, Denmark’s Mikkel Bang Fredsø Weigelt sprinted to second place, while Thor Feyaerts completed the podium by winning the sprint for third. Verbeeck made the decisive move in the final phase of the race and held on strongly all the way to the finish.

Several other Belgian riders also made their mark. Mauro Keppens and Witse Bertels finished ninth and tenth respectively, giving Belgium four riders in the top ten.

Following in the footsteps of great names

Tuur Verbeeck rides for the R.EV Brussels Cycling Academy, the development team founded by Remco Evenepoel. With this victory, Verbeeck immediately earned his place on a prestigious honour roll. Evenepoel himself claimed a solo victory in Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne Juniors back in 2018. Kuurne once again proves to be a place where future stars take their first major steps.

Who will succeed Tuur Verbeeck?

Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne Juniors is known as a race where attacking spirit and race intelligence are rewarded. The course, the timing and the strong international field make the outcome unpredictable. Will we see another solo victory, or will multiple contenders battle it out towards the finish in Kuurne? One thing is certain: the road to becoming a cycling legend is wide open.
